Nissan Offers Three Years of Free Service for 2011MY GT-R in the UK

Chinese distributor Pang Da Automobile is pumping more cash into Spyker NV's ailing Swedish unit Saab by placing a new order for 630 vehicles valued at €15 million or US$21.5 million. This latest order comes after an earlier one last week for 1,300 cars worth €30 million (US$43.2 million) and is part of a broader deal in which Pang Da agreed to buy a 24 percent stake in Saab’s parent company Spyker for €65 million (US$93.5 million). The Swedish automaker said that as with the first order, Pang Da will pay the additional €15 million order up front with the funds expected to be received by the end of this week. Delivery of the vehicles ordered by Pang Da will start in the fall of this year.
Saab and Spyker CEO Victor Muller said the new order proves that the Swedish automaker has found the “right partner” in Pang Da. Muller added that he looks forward to the next step in the business partnership between the two companies “when we set up joint ventures for distribution and, at a later stage, production in China together with a still-to-be-named manufacturing partner”.
Pang Da Automobile’s CEO and Chairman Pang Qinghua, CEO said that his company made “the right decision in entering a partnership with Spyker and Saab Automobile”.
Saab restarted production on Friday, May 27, after a near eight week stoppage due to unpaid bills to suppliers.

Hard Drive It: Audi R8 Diecast Model with 250-640GB Data Storage Capacity

Many gear heads like ourselves, like to decorate their office desk with scale model cars that chances are, will never be able to afford in this life. Now what better for our congested workspace if the scale model could also incorporate a hard drive? Well, at least that seems to be the idea behind the products of a company called Flash Rods that specializes on scale model cars with integrated flash or hard drives.

The company's latest creation is a 1:18 scale Audi R8 that incorporates a hard drive disk that connects up to your PC by USB to store all your files. The company said that the Audi R8 will be available for sale on November 1st, in 250GB, 500GB and 640GB configurations and numerous colors.

The company hasn't announced prices yet for the R8, but the already available 1:18 scale Dodge Challenger and Nissan GT-R HDDs both start from $209.99 for the 250GB versions.

Senner Tuning Takes on the New Nissan 370Z with Visual and Mechanical Upgrades

There's no shortage of tuning proposals for the new Nissan 370Z these days, but it's always interesting to see what each company has to offer. Senna Tuning's first take on the Japanese coupe is rather mild comprising of a new sport exhaust system and sport air filter that boost the 3.7-liter V6's output from 331HP to 352HP, an adjustable coilover suspension from KW that lowers the front end of the sports car by up to 45mm and the rear up to 50mm and finally, two different set of 20-inch alloy rims wrapped in 245/35 R20 Vredestein rubber up front and 275/30 R20 at the back.

And yes, we're still trying to figure out if the front bumper of Senner Tuning's Nissan 370Z is painted in a "crème" color or if the different hue is caused by the car's pearl-white finish.

Senna Tuning said that it will unveil more upgrades for the 370Z before the end of the year including a carbon fiber bodykit with front and rear aprons, side skirts and a rear wing as well as a more powerful engine kit.

Tokyo '09: Nissan Says New Land Glider Concept isn't

Tokyo '09: Nissan Says New Land Glider Concept isn't

Perhaps the most interesting fact about Nissan's Tokyo Motor Show-bound Land Glider concept car is the that the Japanese automaker says that the two-seater electric model "should not be regarded as a mere design study" and that it "gives a clear direction to how a future small car from Nissan could look in congested cities." Then again, "clear direction" could be translated in many different ways...

In any case, the ultra slim Land Glider measures just 3,100 mm in length, 1,100mm in width and 1,415mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,180mm and can seat two passengers in a tandem layout.

The four wheeler concept is driven by two electric motors in the rear that are powered by lithium-ion batteries mounted beneath the floor. The concept features steering-by-wire and a lean capability when cornering - just like a motorcycle. The company claims that the vehicle can tilt through corners up to an angle of 17 degrees.

All of this is done automatically as the Land Glider employs sensors for vehicle speed, steering angle and yaw rate to instantly calculate the tilt angle necessary to "negotiate" a corner.

Other highlights include a car-robotics style crash avoidance system that utilizes special sensors mounted in the body to detect other vehicles or obstacles and steer the Land Glider away from them.
